Samuel Heath at Milan Design Week: Material, Time, Craft
During Milan Design Week 2026, Samuel Heath returns to its Brera showroom to present a refined expression of British craftsmanship.
Titled Material, Time, Craft, the exhibition reflects on brassware not as a finished object, but as a process shaped by hands, by materials and by time – a thoughtful response to Fuorisalone 2026’s theme, Be the Project.
At the heart of the presentation is Octelle, an Art Deco–inspired collection developed in collaboration with London interior designer Laura Hammett and launching this summer. Alongside its architectural forms, the collection introduces a new finish: Vintage Bronze Matt, brushed by hand to reveal the brass foundations beneath the bronze surface. The finish speaks quietly of making – of layers, of touch, of the material beneath.
Visitors will also be able to encounter Octelle at different stages of production, from raw brass components through to machined forms and hand-finished pieces. By revealing elements of the making process that are normally only seen in the factory, the exhibition offers a deeper understanding of the care and precision behind each finished piece.
More than a display, the space invites visitors to consider how objects evolve through use, how finishes mature, how materials respond, and how craftsmanship becomes part of a living interior narrative.
