Used alone or as a set; brushed brass offers a sophisticated semi-matt effect, which is an ideal way to counterbalance rough and glossy surfaces of furniture, hardware, tiles and flooring.

The kitchen and master bath represent the heart of the home and the materials, applications and finishes in those spaces can reach throughout the property. As homeowners become more open to experimenting with non-traditional finishes, our British-made brass taps ensure a timeless approach while a brushed brass finish can infuse a contemporary trend.

The increased acceptance of mixing metals in luxury bathroom interiors means that brushed brass finishes can be incorporated as much or as little into designs to taste. A full set of brushed brassware can co-ordinate with lighting and hardware in a purposeful manor to offer a warm and subtle touch to lighter interiors. Alternatively, a single set of brushed brass taps can add further depth and visual interest to an interior when it is used as a highlight piece in contrast to a darker scheme. Used alone or as a set; brushed brass offers a sophisticated semi-matt effect, which is an ideal way to counterbalance rough and glossy surfaces of furniture, hardware, tiles and flooring.

At Samuel Heath, we offer up to ten finishes that are all plated and polished by hand to deliver exceptional payoff of colour and a choice of polished, matt or brushed effects. Our focus on hand-finishing demonstrates our attention to traditional British quality and such characteristics can be seen and experienced through our brushed brass taps. Our brushed finish is achieved by polishing before colour plating to allow its gentle pattern to show through, along with a luxurious sheen at the surface.

A subtle brushed effect can be found across many of our brassware finish options including Brushed Gold and City Bronze. These rich colours and finishes are a popular choice within Farmhouse, Scandinavian and Urban Modern interiors because the styles typify rich colour and flare with a focus on textural, natural materials. In contrast, Stainless Steel is an extra mattified brushed finish and this is due to the brassware being brushed after the plating process. This cool silver finish unites the idea of sleek yet functional detailing, which can create a soothing effect within light interiors with Minimal, Spa or Coastal themes.

The hand application of our brushed finishes require careful precision to replicate the consistency of machinery. The brush strokes are applied using rotating coarse ‘mops’ that gently scratch the surface of the brass to reveal the pattern. Our craftsmen and women understand that this method must be carried out in the same direction onto all components of the brassware in order to achieve a consistent finish. This application requires the use of mop head sets in different sizes and widths in order to fit into every crevice. This meticulous process is applied to all parts of our brass taps including bolts and mechanisms that you only may partially see. It is the manufacture of our brushed brass taps that exemplify the high quality standard of British bathroom fittings at Samuel Heath.
