Bespoke Product Service
For discerning designers, bespoke products have the power to transform interiors into a true vision of their client’s brief.
From private residences and superyachts to luxury hotels, high-end projects often demand something unique – a new hardware design, a tap handle of perfect proportion, a finish that harmonises with the palette, or a unique configuration that balances practicality with aesthetics.
Samuel Heath’s bespoke product service is designed to meet these needs. Drawing on over two centuries of British craftsmanship and the capability to manufacture every product in-house at our Birmingham factory, we unite artisanal skill with engineering expertise to create pieces that are truly one of a kind.
Read on to discover how our bespoke service has empowered interior designers and architects to overcome technical challenges, achieve seamless cohesion, and deliver spaces defined by excellence.
Bespoke Brassware Design
Samuel Heath manufactures from drawing board to finished piece, allowing us to explore the creation of entirely bespoke products where possible. Such commissions have been crafted to respond to unique architecture, client expectations, or specific technical demands.
For the luxury apartments at London’s Centre Point by Almacantar Property, we developed custom door levers to exact specifications. Each was hand-drawn by our design team in collaboration with Conran & Partners, machined from solid brass using 5-axis technology, and supported with custom carbon-fibre 3D-printed fixtures for efficiency. Once polished, plated, and assembled, the levers reflected the precise eye for detail suited to one of London’s most iconic residences.
For WOW!house 2025, the immersive showcase at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, we developed an entirely new Art Deco-inspired brassware collection, “Octelle”, in collaboration with Laura Hammett Interiors. The process began with a design brief with the Laura Hammett team, followed by an exploration of our historical design archives, and then a highly detailed prototyping phase. After months of development, the final collection balances classical proportions with contemporary profiles, and was the catalyst for the geometry, palette and sense of indulgence that runs throughout Laura Hammett’s bathroom design. Designers may also request subtle alterations of our existing brassware designs, such as softening handle profiles, removing embellishments, or combining elements across collections.

Bespoke Configurations: Combinations
One of the most effective ways to achieve a distinctive aesthetic is by combining components from different Samuel Heath ranges.
For example, Stephanie Bour created their own customised basin filler by combining a Forme spout with Style Moderne Quilted Crystal levers, marrying clean modern lines with tactile detail. The result balanced contemporary elegance with luxuriously textured touchpoints, demonstrating how bespoke pairings can elevate a tap into a statement piece.
Sometimes bespoke also means rethinking how components work together. When BAMO requested a wall-mounted bath filler to be integrated into a shower plate, our engineers developed a solution that combined the Style Moderne spout, hose, and hand shower on a single backplate. This streamlined the installation and delivered a cohesive look, enhancing both practicality and style.

Bespoke Configurations: Technical
Beyond aesthetics, technical adjustments can also be made to support unique requirements, whether for water performance, functionality, or installation in complex environments.
Such requests often demand innovation from our expert team. For Marie Flanigan Interiors, working with supplier Elegant Additions, the brief was a shower placed in the centre of a glass-enclosed bathroom, with plumbing rising from the floor. Exposed showers typically rely on plumbing behind the wall they are fixed to, and no standard solution existed, so our design team adapted bath standpipes to carry water externally, extended their height, and engineered discreet fittings to maintain a clean aesthetic.
The result was an exposed shower that balanced elegance with complex engineering. Marie’s team was delighted, and the project was featured in her book “The Beauty of Home”. Since then, the design has inspired further requests from other projects with similar requirements – proof that our bespoke service not only solves challenges but sets new benchmarks for possibility.

For The Newt in Somerset, a luxury country estate hotel, Richard Parr Associates, Simon-Morray-Jones Architects and Studio Mark Ruthven required a bath filler capable of delivering a high flow rate within minutes so that guests did not have to wait to sit back and relax in a soothingly warm bath.
A diverter would have restricted the water flow too much, so our team created a Landmark LMK Pure configuration that maximises water flow and gives separate controls to the hand shower. This achieved the desired performance while maintaining the hotel’s sophisticated yet rustic aesthetic. The same project also required our under-counter towel rails to be fixed directly onto marble, and we were able to develop new chassis that allowed the rails to sit securely and integrate seamlessly within the scheme. Brass plates were made to measure and finished in City Bronze for recess sections behind some of the baths, to maximise space but maintain the high level of finish.
These design-led modifications ensure that no detail feels off-the-shelf. Every component reflects the character of the interior, resulting in hardware that feels like it was made for the space – because it was.

Bespoke Adaptations: Measurements
We understand that luxury interiors rarely fit a standard mould. Designers can require adjustments in scale or height – whether adjusting projection lengths for wall or deck-mounted fittings, altering dimensions to align with architectural features, or scaling spouts to correspond with compact basins.
A shortened spout, for example, involves a process akin to releasing a new product line. Our engineers, manufacturing specialists, and craftspeople collaborate to preserve proportion and character, review materials and performance, adapt machining programs, and produce components using custom fixtures made in our tool room on-site.
Each piece then follows our meticulous process of inspection, polishing, plating, and assembly before leaving the factory, ensuring that every tailored adaptation upholds our uncompromising attention to detail.
Bespoke Finishes
The surface finish of bathroom and architectural hardware has the power to transform both mood and character. While Samuel Heath offers a wide variety of finishes within its standard collections, designers can also request entirely new finishes or nuanced versions of existing ones.
The Art Deco-inspired brassware collection, “Octelle”, created in collaboration with Laura Hammett Interiors for WOW!house 2025, was finished in a new exclusive shade, “Vintage Bronze”, to complement the individuality of the design. Hand-applied in our Birmingham factory, this finish combines a deep chocolate tone with burnished edges, hand-worked by our master polishers to reveal warm brass highlights. Its depth and character shaped the wider design scheme of Aaron and Laura Hammett’s bathroom design, influencing material and colour choices throughout the space. For Winch Design’s 89-metre superyacht “Here Comes the Sun”, we had the pleasure of crafting “Tiger Bronze” – a bespoke finish created through extensive experimentation. Our electroplating technicians and master polishers styled Style Moderne brassware with an aged brass base and vertical striations applied across basin, bath, and shower fittings, giving taps and accessories a sense of movement and individuality, while unifying the yacht’s luxurious aesthetic. This required several shipments of samples for client approval to ensure the brushing lines matched perfectly and aligned with other fittings in the superyacht’s interior.
M Projects requested a bespoke Matt Black Chrome finish for Style Moderne basin taps in an Edwardian family home – a finish not offered as standard within this collection. To guarantee both visual depth and long-term durability, our technicians carried out extensive testing to ensure each component could withstand our rigorous electroplating process, carefully balancing layers of copper, nickel, and chrome to achieve the precise lacquer thickness. The result paired elegantly with the bathroom’s tile trim, evoking a sophisticated monochrome effect.

Old Brass Matt, a finish first inspired by Winch Design’s “Tiger Bronze”, was further developed for a bathroom design undertaken by Sophie Paterson Interiors. The aim was to achieve an aged appearance without relying on natural patination. Subtle tonal variations and surface texture created the perfectly imperfect character that the clients sought. Unlike polished brass or less authentic alternatives from other manufacturers, Old Brass Matt offers a true-to-life appearance, sealed by a matt lacquer to embody a natural, timeworn elegance.
Each of these bespoke finish examples demonstrates how experimentation, surface treatment, and artisanal care come together to deliver results that are distinctive and are built to last.

The Collaboration Process
Samuel Heath’s bespoke product service gives designers the freedom to push boundaries and achieve interiors with their own individual identity.
At the heart of our bespoke service is collaboration. We work with designers from the earliest stages, providing technical advice, material expertise, prototypes and early samples to give designers and clients complete confidence before final production. This partnership approach ensures even the most ambitious concepts are realised with precision and reliability.
When commissioning a bespoke product, lead times are discussed from the outset with the interior designer and our team works to an agreed schedule, with feasibility checks, cost estimates and drawings provided for approval before production.
